Sabrina Clark – Founder, J. Cooper Sweet Sensations
The Story of J. Cooper Sweet Sensations
My name is Sabrina Clark and I was inspired to launch this cupcake and dessert business in loving memory of our Mother, Joyce Cooper.
Joyce Cooper was a federal employee of the Department of Agriculture for 40 years until February 2010. She was also a gifted baker who did not bake for profit, but baked cakes, made cookie dough, pies, and cheesecakes for friends, family, and co-workers. She was our beloved Mother. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer on February 19, 2010 and passed away on March 17, 2010.
She left a few of her recipes behind and after a conversation with my husband, I began to use a few of them about three years after her passing. I discovered that I had a hidden gift to bake as well and began to receive rave reviews on the taste of my baked goods. Since then I have tweaked a few recipes of my own and discovered my gift of baking was handed down to me directly from my mother. I specialize in homemade cakes, cupcakes, cake jars, and specialty desserts.
My siblings encouraged me to carry the torch in memory of our Mom. One of my nieces gave me the name JC (our Mom’s initials) Sweet Sensations. As time went on I pondered and prayed about how this gift could be shared with the world while ultimately benefiting the lives of others even as we strive to become a health conscious society. I believe that every gift we are born with is always to benefit the lives of others in some way.
On June 17, 2014, God inspired me to work toward establishing a foundation that would be funded by the sales of the baked goods to support Breast Cancer Awareness in the Memory of our Mom, Joyce Cooper. Hence, J.Cooper Sweet Sensations was birthed.
Our mission is to donate a percentage of the proceeds from our home baked goods toward three prospective areas: non-profit breast health programs, state of the art medical research, and to provide support for uninsured women in the United States through the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.
